A large family kitchen in Botley, Southampton

The Project

Mr & Mrs S were in the early stages of planning a kitchen extension in their Botley, Hedge End home when they approached us for some help and ideas.  Their challenge was to create a warm, light and airy family kitchen in a shaded, north facing space.  Having an outline kitchen design prior to finalising building plans with their builders meant that tweaks in the building work could be made to accommodate our ideas and suggestions.  The building works were carried out by their own builder and so we supplied them with the electrical layout(s) and other essential measurements that would ensure their first fixes were in the correct locations and visited the site on several occasions to meet the builders to assess how things were progressing and ensure the work tied in with the necessities for fitting the kitchen as designed.

Mr & Mrs S chose a shaker style of furniture in a combination of mussel and english blue, beautiful bianco carrara quartz worktops and a BORA induction extractor hob set into the large island with designer lighting all atop french oak karndean flooring.
