A Contemporary Walnut Kitchen and Bespoke Bench Seating in Hedge End

Kitchen and utility survey and design including exploring options for opening up the space between the kitchen and dining room, creating bespoke bench seating with storage and a unit capable of supporting the large fish tank.  Supply of all fitted furniture, appliances and accessories.  Full project management for removal of the internal wall and all associated building works including plastering, electrics, plumbing, flooring, lighting and installation of the kitchen, dining and utility areas by our own fitters.

The Project:

Mr & Mrs L have a modern family home in central Hedge End.  With a growing family they started exploring options to update their kitchen and make better use of the ground floor space.  The family had outgrown the kitchen table and realised that the small dining room had become more of a storage room and home working area than a useable space for the family.  The family also had a strong desire to create space for storing their numerous small appliances off the worktop while ensuring they remained easily accessible.

The final design involved removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room, creating a more open and spacious feel while maintaining a designated dining and home working area. This transformation flooded the kitchen with additional light from the large external doors, and the space previously occupied by the small kitchen table, became available for extra kitchen needs.

Loving a contemporary style and uncluttered work surfaces, the main kitchen area features handless walnut and white furniture from the Stoneham Kitchens’ Ambiance and Diffuse ranges.  It boasts 50mm white Corian worktops and contrasting white plinths to complete the look.  Primary storage is provided by various drawers, ranging from large pan drawers to multiple internal drawers and LeMans corner storage. 

Within the dining area we created and installed bespoke walnut corner bench seating with drawers underneath the seating, plus we also installed a storage unit with additional bespoke strengthening to support their large fish tank and walnut shelf unit.  

This Hedge End kitchen now features a Bora downdraft hob and Siemens ovens, warming drawer, dishwasher and full height fridge freezer along with numerous storage solutions.
